Our lip balms are hand made from only six ingredients, all of which are not only edible but beneficial to the skin. The main ingredient is coconut oil which has recently become one of the most popular of all the healthy oils because of its many health benefits. Coconut oil is beneficial for the skin in that it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, has anti-aging properties and is moisturizing. It can help with skin problems such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. Beeswax and avocado oil are the next most important ingredients: beeswax is rich in fatty acids and Vitamin A and is a natural hydrator and healing agent for the skin; avocado oil is rich in Vitamin E that prevents inflammation and itchiness; avocado oil has anti-aging and sun protection properties and boosts collagen production thereby maintaining skin elastiticity and youthfulness. The next most abundant ingredient is rosehip oil which has wonderful anti-aging and healing properties as it is full of Vitamin C. It also stimulates collagen production. The special ingredient in this lip balm is Harakeke (or New Zealand Flax) leaf extract that is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-acne and skin softening and healing properties.
